Our Practice
The Eyecare Center Of DuPage, Ltd. is a health-focused private vision care practice providing examination services, treatment of eye diseases,
surgical co-management, expert optical services, advanced contact lens services and orthokeratology. The practice was established in the
community in 1981 and has been at it’s current location since 1996. Under the clinical direction of Dr. Anthony J. Prasnikar the practice provides
eyecare for the entire family, from toddlers to senior citizens.
The practice is dedicated to excellence in eyecare -- with the emphasis on “care.” We strive to give our patients a positive eyecare experience
during their visit to our office...and beyond. We do so by investing in staff members that are caring, maintaining an environment that is
comfortable, clean & welcoming, by investing in state-of-the-art instrumentation, investing in ongoing training & education, demanding high
standards from our vendors & laboratories, and, most of all, by communicating our care & concern to our patients. Our willingness to go the

is our mission to share our knowledge and
expertise to enhance lives, and to do so in a
caring and comfortable environment.
Dr. Anthony J. Prasnikar has been the Clinical Director of the
Eyecare Center Of DuPage, Ltd. in Westmont, IL for the past 25
years. He earned his Doctorate Degree from the Illinois College of
Optometry in Chicago. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor of Science
in Visual Science from the Illinois College of Optometry and another
Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Western Illinois University. He
interned at The Chicago Lighthouse for the Blind & Visually
Impaired in Chicago. He is board certified by the National Board of
Examiners in Optometry, is a Certified Orthokeratologist, is certified
in the use of diagnostic, therapeutic, & oral pharmaceutical agents,
and is a Certified Wave Contact Lens Designer. Dr. Prasnikar has
received extensive post-doctorate training in the use of the Keratron
Scout Corneal Topographer as well as in Wavefront Corneal Molding. Dr. Prasnikar is an
honored recipient of the Knight-Henry Memorial Award by the Optometric Extension
Program Foundation for his research efforts, and he is a published author. He was a
Charter Member of the American Optometric Association Contact Lens Section, a member
of the International Society of Advanced Orthokeratology, the Orthokeratology Academy of
America, the Ortho-K.net Network, the Illinois Optometric Association and the American
Optometric Association. Dr. Prasnikar has been a participant in the Global Orthokeratology
Symposium and in the Vision by Design Orthokeratology Symposium. In his free time Dr.
Prasnikar enjoys music and playing his Selmer Mark VI tenor sax & Yamaha EWI. Most of
all, however, Dr. Prasnikar enjoys spending time with his wife, two daughters and pet
bunny, Mr. Alan Thackery Binx, at their Downers Grove home.
